Citroën 2CV AK400 wheel rims – New Zealand
The iconic French Citroën 2CV AK400 “Fourgonnette” was built from 1951 to 1979. It is nicely compact and perfect for any event or campaign limited on space. The Deux Chevaux (Two Horses) as it was commonly referred to by the French has seemingly taken a step back from its original role.
In February 2024, the van’s owner, a previous Civil Engineer in Queensland Rail, and happy owner of this Citroën 2CV AK400, decided to totally refurbish the wheel rims, with particular attention to the crevices between the riveted components.
The works were done in Luggate, New Zealand. His 2CV was built in 1975, has 124,000 km on its odometer, and Laurie and his wife, Glenys, are regularly touring around, usually covering up to 5,000 km per year.
