ZOU & OUÉMÉ BRIDGES – RAILWAY OFFICE - BENIN
In 1906, 2 steel bridges were built across the Zou and the Ouémé Rivers, under the authority of the RAILWAY OFFICE of Benin (“Office de Chemins de Fer du Bénin”). The line Bénin-Niger links Cotonou to Parakou. The Zou bridge consists of 3 spans of 20 m and the Ouémé bridge has 8 spans of 20 m.
The entire structure was grit-blasted and protected with ZINGA.
