Oscarsborg cannons – Kaholmene, Oslofjord, Norway

The Oscarsborg Fortress is a coastal fortress in the Oslofjord, close to the small town of Drøbak in Akershus County, Norway. It was built on the Kaholmene Islands to protect Oslo. The fortress is best known for sinking the German heavy cruiser Blücher on 9 April 1940 with the cannons “Moses” and “Aaron”. In 2014 the Oscarsborg Fortress became National Heritage. It has more than fifteen 28mm calibre cannons built by Krupp at the end of the 19th century.

In 2021, the Association of the Friends of the Oscarsborg Fortress decided to completely renovate it as well as to protect the cannons with a +30-year anti-corrosion protection.

ZINGA Film Galvanizing, as a stand-alone system, was chosen over other competitors.

Some cannons were protected with ZINGA  in 2021, and 12 other cannons in 2022.
